Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Thomas Walsh

Thomas Walsh was born November 11, 1940 and would marry his love Sally on that same date in 1967. Thomas began his professional career at Picker (now Philips) as an X-Ray engineer. In fact, he met Sally while working for Picker as she was working as an X-Ray technician at Beth Israel Hospital (they met in 1966). Tom and Sally would not only create a beautiful family to include: Pat, Tommy and Nancy, but they would also create an industry leading imaging services company; A Walsh Imaging. Tom was a successful entrepreneur. He started North Star X-Ray in 1971, he then partnered with a colleague to form Andrew’s and Walsh X-Ray, and ultimately started A Walsh Imaging which he built into the leading X-Ray service organization in the Tri-State area. He would later hand the business over to his two son’s; Pat and Tom. Walsh Imaging, as part of 626 today, is a thriving imaging services business and it was enabled by the platform Tom Walsh built nearly 50 years ago. "It is both humbling and an honor to be able to carry on Thomas's legacy in the workplace. We have a lot to live up to and we will strive to do so everyday," says Philip Revien, Chief Executive Officer of 626. "So thankful we were blessed to spend the time with him that we did." Tom was not however, all business. He was an avid and talented Bag Piper and even performed in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. He loved shooting and became an elite shooter. He even had an Olympic tryout in 1964, but did not have the funding to attend those games. He was a civilian state champion in New Jersey and at 78 years of age won the Florida State Championship (as he had relocated to FL in retirement). Tom was also a pilot. He owned his own plane and was in love with flight. He was as eclectic as he was successful. Tom’s professional legacy lives on through Walsh Imaging and his love for life and family live on through Sally, Pat, Tom, Nancy and sister Peggy. An industry, family, friends and the world are sad about his passing, but are, and were, blessed by his presence on earth. "We were grateful to know Thomas Walsh and the integrity and passion he evoked," says Michael Fischer, Chief Financial Officer of 626. "May he rest in peace."
