Driven by a desire to help children afflicted with cancer, Michael Fischer, CFO of 626, formed Drops of Hope in 2006. The 501 (c)(3) provides free transportation for patients and their families to and from the hospital for chemotherapy treatments…and these kids are ridin’ in style!
Drops of Hope sends a limousine fully equipped with video games, movies, snacks and drinks, allowing children and their families to enjoy an otherwise stressful trip and, hopefully, create lasting memories for these special young boys and girls.
Drops of Hope also offers a program called Rooms of Hope, which provides bedroom makeovers to pediatric cancer patients. Rooms are designed to suit each child’s personal tastes and interests and are decorated with special touches such as custom furniture, artwork and other creative accessories.
These imaginative bedroom environments help enhance the healing process and enable children to, if only for a moment, forget their challenges and revel in the joy of simply being a kid.
